Well, there's quite alot going on behind the scenes to report...
The Red Thread
First off, our good friend Lee (formerly of the top Manc band Alfie) has a new project on the go and we're delighted to be involved. It's probably easier if we let him explain, so here he is
"The Red Thread is an ongoing, eclectic, collaborative experiment to see if we can pull an album together, out of nothing. Largely built around manchesters, as yet, undiscovered songwriting talents but at the same time unashamedly featuring as many special guests as we can convince to add a little glamour to proceedings.
There's a regularly updated blog spanning all our attempts to embroil folk in this project and our various attempts to get this thing off the ground. Already we've secured the talents of Steven Fretwell, Guy Garvey of Elbow, Jack Cooper, John Stammers, Sam and Me, Stazi, The Beans, Jim Noir, Keith, Snow Patrol and many of the ex members of Alfie. Not a bad start then..."
So there you go. Head over to www.theredthread.org for more details and keep checking for regular updates.
Our contribution is a song that we've been playing live for a while now called 'Ice Is Melting'. It's likely to be the B side to our next single (more details below) and the demo is up now on the Red Thread's MySpace site.
The next single
Plans are well under way for the next single. It's called 'A Lying Down Disposition' and it'll be released through akoustik Anarkhy in early summer. The B side as mentioned above will probably be 'Ice Is Melting'. Both tunes are sounding great so far. Expect more aural fireworks. Bren from EyeBrowy is flying over to London next week to shoot the follow up video and let's just say that we have a few new tricks up our sleeves..!
Full details of the release will be posted here as soon as possible.
The band
Rehearsals with the new members are going well and we hope to be ready to gig in time for the single promo in the summer
Thanks Sam!
