Wow... major developments over at the Gemma Hayes official website. It looks like www.gemmahayes.net (which was originally Laura's fansite, and then became the official site) is back to being a fansite, and the record company have launched a new site over at www.gemmahayes.com. Hats off to Laura for all the hard work she's done keeping us up to date with Gemma Hayes news over the past few years
The new official site has the following news/diary entry on the front page:
Hello thereI'm so happy that my album is finished and I'm so excited about you all hearing it. It's been a long ol' wait so thanks for sticking around.
Now that the album is finally done it only seems fair that the website gets a spring clean. I don't think Laura has ever had an official holiday for her amazing job keeping this machine weel oiled so Laura here is you chance but please come back soon.
We hope to launch the new site at the beginning of August with lots of new features, pictures and stuff o' nonsese!
I hope ye all enjoyed Glastonbury this year whether from a couch or a puddle. I really wanted to play this year but alas I will have to wait.
I have put a great touring band together over here and now I can't wait [to] start giggin again. We are planning a tour for August in the USA God willing and then I will be back in England in September and October.
I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing you soon.
Gemma xx
Interesting stuff... looks like Gemma is finally coming back to the UK in Sept/Oct to play some gigs :)
The old - I guess now unofficial - message board is still active here
Laura reported last month that Gemma Hayes appeared on the official soundtrack to the Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie film 'Mr and Mrs Smith', with the tune 'Lay Lady Lay' (the Magnet collaboration).. although reports suggest the version on the film/OST is a different version, with less Gemma
Meanwhile there has been several Bit Torrent downloads of Gemma Hayes live concerts posted up on the board recently (thanks quietsucker):
